A CURATORIAL

PARTNERSHIP

To mark a momentous milestone like our 40th anniversary, we are beyond thrilled to share that Oregon Contemporary will be joining us this year for a special curatorial partnership!

Oregon Contemporary has been a nonprofit organization since 2005, and has occupied its current 12,000-square-foot building in North Portland since 2008. Oregon Contemporary is a space dedicated to art, community, and the exponential possibilities of contemporary art. They produce powerful, visionary art programs for the communities of Oregon, and will be an invaluable partner in welcoming new and returning artists to be a part of this historic CAP Art Auction & After Party!

CURATORIAL

STATEMENT

Oregon Contemporary is pleased to partner with Cascade AIDS Project’s Art Auction this year, in celebration of their 40th anniversary. We believe in the values of CAP and its inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ+ people, people affected by HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care. By combining forces for the auction, our two non-profits are able to maximize the fundraising for both organizations, while asking artists to give once in support of two causes.

Oregon Contemporary is curating 40 works for the 40th anniversary which will be in the live and silent auctions. Additionally we are jurying the open call for the additional artwork included in the silent auction. Oregon Contemporary is receiving a portion of the auction proceeds, while the event tickets, donations, etc. solely support CAP. Oregon Contemporary will host a gala event in the summer for its main party of the year.

CAP has been supported by the art community since the inception of its auction gala event. Oregon Contemporary’s team is excited to collaborate with CAP – doubling the impact of the artists who support each of us and using new models to ensure Oregon’s communities are continuously supported.
